Senior Java Contractor – API Platforms

We're looking for a Senior Java Contractor to support the development and maintenance of both a legacy API platform (Java/Spring/Cloud) and a new API platform. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on improving platform performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Java-based API gateways
• Support both legacy and modern API platform environments
• Work with infrastructure as code and cloud services
• Monitor system health and performance using modern observability tools
• Manage containerised applications in Kubernetes

Key Skills:

• Strong experience in Java, with additional skills in JavaScript, Groovy, JSP, HTML, XML, SQL
• Familiar with Maven, Gradle, and PostgreSQL
• Hands-on with Terraform and AWS services
• Skilled in using Docker, Helm
• Experience with observability tools
• Strong AWS experience
